THE ROAD TRIP UP NORTH
Early in 2014, my dad, mum, sister and I came up to the North Island to live here. We had found a house that we were looking at to buy. So early one morning we packed our gear in the back of the truck which was worth about two weeks of clothes. It was only gears we needed as the rest was in the container getting shiped up.
So off we went on our new adventure, it took about a day to get to Greymouth to stay at Zoey’s house, who is my older sister. We stayed there for the night and left in the late hours of the afternoon, to stay at my nan’s house for the night. The next morning, we left really early to get to Picton.
We went on the fairy and then about 2 hours later we arrived in Wellington. From there we drove until dark to one of my old mates house and we stayed for the night. The next day we left to go to my koro’s house in Turangi. We arrived with perfect timing around 2 o'clock because we also got to see some people that we hadn't seen in a long time, which was cool. We stayed for two nights we then left to go the rest of the way.
We drove up to Opononi and we stayed in a bach right on top of the hill. We had a mean as view.
The next day we stopped in at Kaikohe to go house hunting. We looked at maybe three house’s then we came across one that we liked better than the one we had in mind. So we stayed in a rental house on the outskirts of Kaikohe for about one and a half months... waiting to move in.
When we moved into our new house, which took a couple of days, we were surprised that most of our furniture fitted. When everything was packed, we have been living there ever since.
